I took my little boy to the park the other day and he asked me to put him on the swing. He’s still at that size where if he wants to swing it’s going to need effort from Daddy. With a few pushes he was into the rhythm. But he wanted to go high, or in his words “super high”, so much more effort was required from Daddy right? Actually no. Just steadily pushing him at the right time consistently for a while saw him rise into the highest whoosh that safety and his stomach would allow. Keeping the super high whoosh was easy. It takes as much effort to run through life slowly and laboriously as it does to fly high with momentum.
